Battersea’s Walk for Rescue 2024 Terms and Conditions
By participating in Battersea’s Walk for Rescue in aid of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, registered charity no. 206394 (Battersea), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
General
- Participants must be aged 18 or above to register for Battersea’s Walk for Rescue.
- By submitting the registration form, participants confirm that they are, to the best of their knowledge, fit and healthy to participate in this challenge. If they are unsure of your ability to take part, they should take advice from their General Practitioner before registering.
- If participants are taking part with a dog and are unsure of their dogs ability to take part, they should take advice from their vet before registering.
- Entrance to the Event is via the Funraisin platform. Participants understand that Funraisin is an independent software company to Battersea. Participants can view their privacy policy here - Funraisin Privacy Policy. All information provided as part of the registration form is processed using the Funraisin platform. Funraisin only processes the information on behalf of Battersea for the purpose of administering participation in the Event.
- Participants will also have the option to set up a Facebook Fundraiser. Participants understand that Facebook is owned by Meta Platforms, and Meta is an independent company of Battersea and by choosing to set up a Facebook Fundraiser, you will also be agreeing to their terms and Privacy Policy with is available here - Meta Privacy Policy.
Merchandise
- Registrants can make a donation of £3 to purchase bandanas, and £6 to purchase t-shirts. All merchandise will be sent out by post. We can’t guarantee that merchandise we will arrive before 1st October. Donations made to purchase merchandise, will not count towards fundraising totals.
Fundraising
- It is free to register and there is no minimum fundraising target for taking part, but by signing up participants agree to make a donation or fundraise as much as they can for Battersea.
- Any money raised in connection with Battersea’s Walk for Rescue is held on trust for Battersea and must be passed to Battersea. We ask that all participants do this as soon as possible after the event. We ask that all sponsorship money be passed to Battersea within two weeks following the event.
- All money raised will go towards supporting the work of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (registered charity no 206394).
- Participants can: Pay via their Walk for Rescue fundraising page, pay over the phone by credit or debit card by calling 020 7627 7883, send a cheque payable to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to Walk for Rescue, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, 4 Battersea Park Road, London, SW8 4AA.
- All participants have a legal responsibility to ensure that all sponsorship money/donations received for Battersea’s Walk for Rescue are paid to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Please ensure that where relevant, all sponsorship forms are completed in full and returned to us to enable us to claim Gift Aid where possible.
Fundraising rewards
- Individual participants who have raised £50-£99 by midnight on 17 November 2024 will receive a rosette in the post. Individual participants who have raised £100-249 by midnight on 17 November 2024 will receive a rosette and a Supporting Rescue tote bag in the post. Individual participants who have raised £250 or more by midnight on 17 November 2024, and confirmed their size via email, will be sent a rosette and Battersea branded hoodie in the post.
- The rosette, tote bag and hoodie are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
- Battersea reserves the right to replace the rosette, tote bag or hoodie with an alternative of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Charity’s control makes it necessary to do so.
- In order to be eligible for a fundraising reward, individuals must have fundraised or donated the relevant amount by midnight on 17 November 2024. To receive a fundraising reward fundraising must either be with Battersea directly or on an online fundraising page linked to Battersea by midnight on 17 November 2024.
- Any money raised on a Team fundraising page will not count towards individuals fundraising totals.
- Gift Aid will not count towards the relevant targets you must donate or raise to receive a fundraising reward.
- Battersea will aim to send fundraising rewards by post to all those who qualify within four weeks of 17 November 2024 deadline. Battersea accepts no responsibility for fundraising rewards being lost, damaged, or delayed in the post.
- Battersea will not send fundraising rewards to anyone who requests not to receive them, after contacting us via email.
Photo sharing
- Battersea will be displaying a gallery of photos, hosted by Curator, shared on social media using the #WalkForRescue on the Walk for Rescue website. Participants can view Curator’s Privacy Policy here – Curator Privacy Policy. If participants do not want their photo to be shared in this gallery, they should not use the hashtag. If they do, but later decide they do not wish to appear on this gallery, they should contact Battersea at any time at walkforrescue@battersea.org.uk and Battersea will remove the image.
Data Protection
Personal data provided will be used to administer participants entry into Battersea’s Walk for Rescue and send participants important information and fundraising ideas to support their participation.
Only participants name, postal address and merchandise order will be sent securely to Battersea’s fulfilment house, who will package and post out requested merchandise.
If participants set up a fundraising page, their name, fundraising total, and profile picture from their page will be displayed in the leaderboards section on the home page and ‘Leaderboards’ page of the Walk for Rescue website.
Battersea will only send you communications not related to Walk for Rescue by email, telephone, or text message if participants have given us their permission to do so. Battersea may contact participants by post unless they have asked us not to in line with our Privacy Policy: https://www.battersea.org.uk/privacy-policy-and-cookies-policy.

Battersea reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
