By taking part in Walk for Rescue I have raised enough for a care package for:

A care package includes all the essentials a dog needs, including a comfy bed to sleep in and a bowl for their favourite food, creating a welcoming space when they arrive at Battersea.

I’m taking part in Walk for Rescue, Battersea's dog walking challenge. Throughout the month of October, I will be covering 30km with my dog by my side. 

Battersea will always be there for every dog and cat. Battersea takes dogs and cats in, gives them the expert care they need and finds them new homes that are just right for them. They help pet owners make informed choices, provide training advice, and campaign for changes in the law. And they help other rescue centres and charities at home and abroad because they want to be here for every dog and cat, wherever they are, for as long as they need Battersea.

Goodbye Edinburgh

Loved this city. Great for dogs. Plenty of off lead moments along Leith, the Meadows, Holyrood and the beach. Plenty of pubs that are dog friendly. Definitely go if you can!

Beach Fun

We had to end our Scottish getaway on a good one, the beach! We had a fantastic time at Portobello beach and Blaise for sure worked most his steps running up and down the coast line to bark at the waves.

River Leith & Holyrood Park II

Tuesday 22nd Oct
Today we rehashed two walks, starting with Leith in the direction of the AIDs memorial park then Holyrood Park for the St Anthony's Chapel Ruins (followed by a bog and a well). We spent the afternoon on the Royal Mile, taking in sights, shops and steak in a pub.

Arthur's Seat

Monday 21st Oct
B was a real trooper climbing most of the way up Holyrood's hill to Arthur's Seat. I only carried him in the last stretch as the rocks were too big for him to climb up and it was too windy. He made it down no problem though whilst I did scrambled a little 🫣

Wet Wet

Sunday 20th Oct
So this morning was wet wet. We wandered along river Leith and back again. Loved the off leash freedom and views along the way.

Meadows

Sunday 20th Oct
A large chunk of our walk today were across these almost endless meadows ❤️ You can catch a glimpse of Holyrood's hills we'll attempt climbing soon in the distance 😬

In the beginning

Saturday 19th Oct
We have made it to Edinburgh. Getting our bearings and enjoying local culture. Blaise is letting off steam after being the bestest boy on the train ride up and is making so many new friends. Thanks for your donations and will post our first short walk by the end of today.

Why?

I've been a lifelong supporter of Battersea Dog's Home. I see the riches dogs bring to our lives. Since getting Blaise I live it day in and day out. He's been my side when I've lost a job, lost my father and been kicked out of home. He's a real mama's boy and will drag me into pubs and is always forcing me out and about. I've made friends through him. I've discovered new hobbies. He's my saviour and I hope to help other dogs find their forever home as he has one with me.
